“Jammin’ with Jamie” Theme: “Back to School, Back to Jammin’!”

Hi, everyone!

While I don’t think it’s too early to start the Halloween music (It’s never too early for Halloween music!), I know not all of my fellow Jammers will agree with me.  Sorry, fans of haunting Halloween harmonies: I’m going to have to string you along just a little longer.  Rest assured, though: it will definitely be worth the wait!

At any rate, this week, for our very first jam session (since June, anyway), I’ve decided to instead focus on another scary prospect that has students everywhere cowering behind their summer beach towels: school!  It’s September, which means it’s “back to school”; on the bright side, though, it also means that Jammin’ with Jamie is back on the radio airwaves again!

So, this week, we’re–––

“Back to School, Back to Jammin’!”

We’ll be jammin’ to fun songs about school, learning, and more!  As always, the tunes we jam to will be fun and entertaining––– I promise!

On a more serious note, I’m also putting together a set of songs in honor of Mr. Jerry G. Bishop, who passed away recently.  Mr. Bishop had a long career in television and radio, and all of his work is fondly remembered.  Among that work is, of course, his time as the original Svengoolie hosting Screaming Yellow Theater from 1970 to 1973.  I was not around then, but, thanks to the Internet, I have seen some of his work, and he was clearly a very talented, hilarious, and entertaining human being.  From what I have heard and read from those who knew him, he was also very kind and generous.  He brought a lot of people a lot of joy during his long career, and people will no doubt continue to discover his work and feel that same joy.

This set of special songs will be played at the end of the show; the set will be dedicated to Mr. Bishop’s memory.

I hope you consider jammin’ with us this week! If you’d like more information about the show and how you can tune in and jam with us, you can find everything you need right here!

Thank you for reading, listening, and jammin’,
Jamie Lee
