Language is an odd thing. You can use it to be direct. But you can also use it for metaphors, for puns and plays-on-words, or just to be extremely and intricately long-winded.
We love and frequently feature fun with words from both songs and our host (ahem) on Jammin’ with Jamie, but this week, it’ll be in the spotlight, as we take a metaphorical walk through a load of…
… “Language Lyrics (2022)”!
This week, we’re going to jam to a ton of tongue-twisting tunes and get a wordy workout with language lyrics, plus packs of punny pieces!
The tunes we’ll be jammin’ to this week come courtesy of artists such as Tom Lehrer, The Muppets, Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, and more! Certain selections come from films such as Mary Poppins (1964), The Court Jester (1955), and Singin’ in the Rain (1952), TV shows such as Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, and musicals such as The Book of Mormon!
I hope you consider jammin’ with us this Saturday at 7 am ET/6 am CT on 89.3 WNUR FM! If you like what you hear, let me know: I record every show and will happily send it to you! For more information about Jammin’ with Jamie, go here!
Thank you for reading, listening, and “jammin’,”
